Proper keyboarding posture helps to ensure that one works comfortably and for longer periods of time. If one learns to always have a good keyboarding posture, stress injuries are effectively avoided.
One should make sure that he or she sits properly and comfortably at the computer table. One should also ensure that the head, the shoulder and back are straight and not leaning backwards. Hands should be straight, the upper arm straight down, and the lower arm at 90 degrees on the computer desk. The elbows should rest on the desk and close to your sides, not hanged off.
The hands and wrists should be on the same level with the keyboard keys. The wrist should be straight. The arm muscles should share the pressure that comes with typing. Legs should be kept straight down to and flat on the floor. They should be apart. There should be enough space under the table for the feet. The place should be free of any obstructive object (Stroman, Wilson and Wauson 286).
The height of the keyboard should not be too high or too low. This ensures that arms do not tire or having trouble reaching some of the keys. One should type the keys on the table gently and not with much force. Keep the computer table clean with vital objects only on top of it. Place the computer monitor at eye level and at a good distance from yourself. Eyes should be on copy so as not to skip words or type the wrong line.

The mouse and keyboard should be placed at a favorable distance and should have good space to allow for movement. Work in a pressure free environment. If you have been injured see a doctor as soon as possible (VanHuss, Forde and Woo 76).
