His experience and believe in science certainly shape his ideas concerning religion. His scientific knowledge makes him believe that human evolved from simple forms to more complex one that it is today.

He believes that his further may killing him the way killed Mrs. Shear dog.
The book can be considered a true depiction of the society, indicating the deceit that take place between parent and children especially in broken families. For instance, Christopher is deceived about the existence of his mother until he comes across recent letters written by his mother and addressed to him. Children in such families come to learn of what is happening in their families from friend neighbors and other external sources. This is very unfair. All the experience that he undergoes encourage ham to doubt the existence of God and affirms his believe in science wanting to be a scientist.
